Usually, big cities and towns have better chances of growth opportunities. The same thing cannot be said for smaller towns. But, what gives us immense pleasure is that there are many women from varied and remote parts of India, who have their business from home and get in touch with us to get connected to a larger audience.
Meet Rashmi Jha
We present below the story of Rashmi Jha, born and brought up in Darbhanga, Bihar and now settled in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh after marriage.
A mother of 2 teenage daughters, a homemaker, a wife and now a budding entrepreneur, Rashmi has proved that it is possible for married women, especially from small towns and cities, to focus on their own growth as well, besides focusing on the family and children. For Rashmi, her daughters’ education was of prime importance. Since young age, she was fond of making art and crafts products at home. With a business and creative bent of mind, Rashmi had this inherent desire to do something of her own. But, she never tried to take the steps as she was more concerned about the family and did not want to disturb their normal routine life.
Soon her daughters grew up and were quite capable of managing on their own. It was during this time, say, 3-4 years back, Rashmi realized that she has ample time of her own and she can really start working on what she loves to do. Even then, she never followed her passion during the day time. It was at night time, she started creating her handmade artistic products. Actually, she had seen her eldest daughter studying late at night. It was during this time, Rashmi gave company to her daughter. While her daughter was busy studying, Rashmi too stay awake and used this time to make her handmade products. Thankfully, her daughter’s performance was not affected and in fact, she started scoring more marks than before. This made Rashmi more confident of converting her hobby into a home business. Today, when her younger daughter stays awake late-night to study, Rashmi gives her company to make the lovely handmade products.
